Dennis Jerz

Dennis Jerz teaches courses in media studies, Shakespeare, American literature, and writing at Seton Hill University. His theatre credits include the gardener in The Secret Garden, the asylum-keeper in Sweeney Todd, and FDR in Annie for Stage Right Professional Theatre Company; King Oberon in A Midsummer Night’s Dream (with his daughter Carolyn as Puck) and Dr. Carrasco in Man of La Mancha for the Cabaret Theatre of Latrobe; and numerous narrator and character roles (including the Wizard of Oz and Sherlock Holmes) for WAOB Audio Theatre. His background also includes work in radio journalism and public relations. He has maintained a weblog since 1999 (currently located at jerz.setonhill.edu).

Carolyn Jerz

Carolyn Jerz, usually a stage performer, is happy to add to her film resume, which includes roles as Eva in “Tooth” (creator: Casey Mikalonis) and Girl in “Fairy Tale” (creator: Josh Reardon). With Pict Classic Theatre in Pittsburgh, under the direction of Alan Stanford, she has acted in works by Dickens and Shakespeare. She won the Pittsburgh Public Theatre’s Shakespeare Monologue Contest in 2017 and 2015, and was a finalist in 2016. She is excited to work with Peter again, after meeting him in the Pittsburgh Public Theatre’s Shakespeare Intensive production of The Comedy of Errors, in which she played Luciana and he played Dromio of Syracuse. Carolyn performs regularly with Stage Right! Greensburg, playing many iconic child & teen roles in close to 50 musicals. She also performs dramatic roles such as Helen Keller (The Miracle Worker) and Puck (A Midsummer Night’s Dream) with the Cabaret Theatre (Latrobe), dances with the Laurel Ballet (Nutcracker, Sleeping Beauty) and does voice acting for WAOB Audio Theatre

MEET THE CAST

Lawrence Karl is excited to be working on Indentured as the Victim. His most recent theatre credits include: A Christmas Story (Scut Farkus) with the Theatre Factory,  Equus (Horse/Alan u/s) with The Pittsburgh Public Theatre,  Deadly Lessons (Quill Saddlehorn) and Love is a Battlefield (Tyson Hinesburger) with Mystery Theatre Pittsburgh,  Momentum: A Festival of Plays (Stage Directions) with City Theatre,  Pippin (Lewis) with Princeton Summer Theatre, A Pirates Tale (Robert) with Shadows and Flames Productions, and the world premiere of December Things (Crawford) with SRU Theatre. He has also had the opportunity to perform in the Edinburg Festival Fringe in Scotland twice in a production of Dark North (Daniel DarkNorth) and an adaption of Electra: An American Gothic (Orestes). His film credits include: Werewolves From Outerspace . He is a Pittsburgh native who received his Bachelor of Arts in Theatre and his Bachelor of Arts in Dance from Slippery Rock University. Lawrence also works as an overhire with City Theatre and as an actor with Fairytale Princess Parties.

Born on December 19, 1981 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Jerry Pietrala began playing the violin at age 6, began singing at age 7, and finally started acting at age 13.  After graduating from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, he acted in several theatres in Pittsburgh and eventually worked his way into film acting.  By the end of 2010, he established his reputation in the independent film communities in Pittsburgh and he soon extended his horizons into other cities in the tri-state area, including Erie and Cleveland.  With more than 25 credits on IMDb, he has become one of the most reputable and most sought-out actors in the Pittsburgh area.

Dan Hawkins- an actor and has acted in these films No Knock List, Night Zero, The Bungfodders Make a Horror Movie: A Mockumentary, and The Leslie Open (short film). Dan graduated from Fairmont State University in 2007 with BA in Fine Arts and AS in Graphics Technology. In college, he acted in many theatre productions and worked on technical elements for their productions. He has acted in community theatre productions and has been a member of improvisation troops in WV.

Peter Kelley is proud to be making his film debut in Indentured. While he is new to the screen, he has been on the stage much of his life, being in such shows as The Perks Of Being a Wallflower as Charlie, All Quiet on the Western Front as Tjaden, and Julius Caesar as Brutus.
